After Ed's accident, he discovered the tremendous difficulty and expense that disabled persons face when trying to get the medical care and services they need.  We have found that these 3 charities provide much needed services to the disabled and are present in the most challenged economic communities, including our Vets!  If you have a preference for one of these charities, please tell us in the special instructions box during checkout.

Goodwill

Goodwill works to enhance people’s dignity and quality of life by strengthening their communities, eliminating their barriers to opportunity, and helping them reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.

Special Olympics

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Paralyzed Veterans of America

A congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1946, has developed a unique expertise on a wide variety of issues involving the special needs of our members – veterans of the armed forces who have experienced spinal cord injury or dysfunction.

While we know there are many great charities out there.  We have chosen these organizations because of their national/global footprint, focus on the disabled in need and organization reputation.  If you would like to suggest other charities that meet this criteria, please tell us about them!
